the week that was
Last week was a blur played on slow-mo. I dont know if thats even possible, but thats definitely how I saw those days that passed by.

Sunday started out early as I met with Chrissie and Mik to watch the UAAP Cheerdance Competition. The 2 and a half hours of waiting in line just to get Upper A tickets were fairly worth it. I sensed the pride that beamed from all the people that flocked the big dome - the reds, the blues, the yellows, and of course, the maroons. My heart pounded at the sight (and sounds) that literally shook the place. The pep squads were all jaw-dropping, but Id have to agree with the judges' final decision. UST did have a clean routine, FEU did wow the audience, and UP did great and got what I thought it deserved.

I badly missed the GREEN though. Guess my heart is still attached to my alma mater after all.

And by the way, we had lunch with SIR LLAGUNO in Gateway before the competition! We were so surprised when we bumped into him coz we all thought he was already in the States. Turns out he's teaching in a private high school for RKs in Sta. Rosa now. It was so good to hear his hilarious comments again. Nothing can beat the memories our class had with him - from the loveteams down to the "basura" presentations. If only there were more teachers like him today...

Monday - After staying at the tambayan for hours, Ayen, Jerome, Eva, Meg, Alexis, Henry, and I all decided to eat dinner together. When youre on a tight budget, McDonald's or Jollibee is the way to go. Haha! I felt guilty going out late on a school night but...

Tuesday ceased that guilt to exist. Who wouldve thought that I could watch a movie late on a school night? Not me, thats for sure. From our trip to the Isawan, I have no idea how we all ended up at The Block to freeze and get disappointed with The Wicker Man. But despite that movie-choice-boo-boo, that was definitely a fun fun fun night thanks to the good company. ;)

Wednesday paved the way for a lot of firsts for me. F decided to meet and have lunch with me at Katips since he had a 4-hour break. He commuted all the way from Taft and we ate at World Topps as soon as he passed by my dorm. We both kept on babbling about our own college stories, and that was the only time I realized how passive I am when it comes to dealing with the opposite sex. I never knew other girls could be that aggressive. Hmm...maybe its time for me to polish my coquetry skills. Haha.

And then there was the Scavenger Hunt for Execoun Week. It was more like Amazing Race if you ask me. We were all divided into 6 groups, and lo and behold, the group I was in finished dead last. Haha! But its quite fulfilling to know that our group managed to walk through the whole UP jungle. The other teams used their ingenuity to get to the different stations by riding the jeepneys and swaying the drivers, but our team insisted on walking through the whole thing - literally! And because we sort of knew that we were last already, we just decided to buy 2 bottles of water with the money that was left with us. And oh, I picked flowers from the different stations too, just for kicks. Lol.

Thursday was another weird day. Ricoy was required to watch Eternity (the one with Dingdong Dantes in it) for one of his subjects, and so after some good persuasion, we all decided to accompany him to have what we coined as EBS (Eternity Bonding Session, derived from UBE). As soon as we arrived at the Block, we found out that Eternity wasnt being shown anymore, so we had to decide between watching this action movie (to which the girls protested), John Tucker Must Die (which we badly wanted to watch because of oozing-hot Jesse Metcalfe) but the guys refused to watch a chick flick) and yes, You Are The One. Guess you wouldnt be surprised to know that we did end up watching Sam Milby and Toni Gonzaga. Hahaha! Whats surprising though is how we actually enjoyed the movie! It was one of those typical Filipino movies (with matching dance sequence), but the scenes were so corny that we actually kept on laughing at all of them. Never mind that we entered the realm of Jologian-ness, what matters is that we had fun. Haha :) (Vernard! Pachengcheng!)

Friday got us all cramming for the required Fave EB/co-app thing for AIESEC. I stayed up till 5am that day to finish my paper Philo paper (only to find out that my professor wouldnt show up again), so my head was spinning the entire morning. Good thing someone stayed up with me and kept me sane even through texting, haha.
So anyway, I was so flattered when Alexis, Ricoy, Chrissie, and Basti chose me as their fave co-app. My heart doubled in size as I read the things they wrote. Chrissie was my fave co-app too, but if only I could, I wouldve written about them all. I heart you guys. Thank you, sobra! :)

I wasnt able to get home until Saturday night after my family picked me up at my dorm. We passed by SM to pick up my brother and headed to Greenhills after. As pitiful as this may sound, it was my first time to go there. Hahaha! (The first FIRST time was with Jana, Lav, Bea, and Ms Bing when we competed at LSGH for the All Girls Math Compe, but we only ate there so I dont think that counts). Im not much of a shopper like most girls, but getting to buy new clothes and shoes definitely brings about ephemeral bliss. Nyaha :)

As for Sunday, well, I really didnt get to do much yesterday after sleeping till 12 in the afternoon (coz I stayed up till 4 in the morning after downloading songs with jer-emo, lol). Lets just say I tried to reboot my stressed body and mind by enjoying simple homey luxuries like free food, airconditioning, DSL and cable TV. Aaah...how I long for that beautiful sem break to come.

Here's another interesting thing about my week: I didnt study AT ALL. Nyaha. Talk about slacking off. Must get my groove back. I need my muse! O:

And oh oh, my favorite time of the year is nearing! 98 days to go till Christmas! Whee! :D

Im super excited for Jana's debut at The Loft this weekend too! :) Cant wait to see Zobel people again. And having 2 of my bestest friends celebrate their 18th birthdays (Chrissie on the 24th) just gives me too much excitement to keep in. ;)

Here's a shout-out to everybody's favorite stalker, Jer-emo Pa-deo! :D Haha! Hi Jerome! :)
